National Catholic Schools Week is January 31 through February 6. ICS will have special actvities to honor and celebrate each day.
Monday: Celebrate Community - A central part of Catholic Education is learning the importance of service to others. ICS will participate in the “Happy Feet” Service Project hosted by SGA. They will be collecting new socks that will be donated to the homeless population of New Orleans. Thank you for your generosity.
Tuesday: Celebrate Faculty/Staff - On this day we honor teachers and principals as well as administrators and staff who support us in our work. Draw a picture or write a special note for your teachers and administrators.
Wednesday: Celebrate our Nation - On National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools, students, families, educators and other Catholic school supporters communicate the value of Catholic education to government leaders. In Social Studies, students will discuss the importance of citizenship and religious liberty.
Thursday: Celebrate Vocations - By focusing on faith, knowledge and service, Catholic schools prepare children to use their God-given talents to the fullest later in life. Father Jimmy will share his vocation story with students. Students, what do you want to be when you grow up? Plan your outfit for Career Day tomorrow.
Friday: Celebrate Students - Student Appreciation and Career Day. Student’s can come dressed to school as their future career.
